The Greenhouse Shop
As part of our promotion of and commitment to sustainable trade, we stock a range of organic food from Suma (the UK’s largest wholesale food co-operative) alongside other Fairtrade and local suppliers.
The food on sale reflect the organic, vegetarian/vegan menu available in the café. The shop has the most extensive range of organic, vegan and no-added-sulphur wines on offer in Norfolk, supplied through Vinceremos and Vintage Roots. We hold frequent wine tastings to encourage serious consumer awareness and informed drinking!
We are stockists for local companies including cards from Green Pebble, Cath Tate and the Natural History Museum. these compliment the work of local and national artists on sale in the Gallery and bookshop.
Our FAIRTRADE food includes teas, coffees, chocolate and cocoa from companies including Equal Exchange, Café Direct, Clipper. We also stock soaps, oils and Palestinian goods from One Village and Zaytoun.
BEYOND FAIRTRADE -We are conscious of the integrity of the Fairtrade mark, but at the same time actively support small suppliers who have set up their own trading policies that extend support to producers beyond the Fairtrade brand criteria. Both Montezuma and Vivani offer chocolate of a very high quality and exemplify the best in ethical champions. Hodemedods supply a range of locally grown dried beans which compliment the Cafe’s use of local organic vegetables.
We support national Friends of the Earth, Amnesty and Survival (formerly Survival International). We also sell Norfolk Honey alongside solitary bee and insect boxes from the Norfolk Forestry Club.
