Sustainable Food – July 2009

In Trading Fairly: Sustainable Food we looked at a participatory model of local food production, and set up an interactive workshop to help people grow their own produce in their own space.

Locally & Globally – March 2009

FairTrade Fortnight took on a local hue at The Greenhouse on Saturday, March 14th. The Greenhouse’s head cook, planned a meal packed with FairTrade ingredients and served it whilst dressed head to toe in FairTrade clothing.

Forty people squeezed into the Greenhouse café and amidst a very lively atmosphere, slurped their way their way through six organic wines and learnt about fair trading – this time from the wholesalers’ perspective.

Going Local – Oct 2008

32 guests and 11 volunteers gathered in The Greenhouse Café for Trading Fairly: Going Local, the first in a series of events funded by the National Lottery through Awards for All, designed to promote fair and sustainable trade. The group shared a locally sourced, organic, three-course meal before hearing Hughes’ perspective on sustainable local trade.
